While I may never again win the elusive Freshly Pressed Lottery, I’ve received a few of the awards that bloggers bestow on one another. While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I find the responsibility of responding to the awards takes up more time than I can muster! So, I’m glad you enjoy my blog, but forgive me for being unable to pass along these awards in a timely manner! Instead, here are the links to bloggers who gave awards to me. Please visit them when you get a chance!

I’d like to thank the following bloggers for nominating me for The Versatile Blogger Award:

queens new life in canada –  Stories and beautiful photos about the travels and adventures of a couple who moved to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
My Sardinian Life – Jennifer is a 30-something Canadian living in Sardinia, Italy. She writes about her travels, and about the interesting life she has in Italy.

This award goes to blogs that light up the world. The designer, Kate, describes the award as follows: “If you are looking for inspiration, hope, optimism, good advice, faith filled assurances, and even humor, these are good blogs to follow.  If any of you want to award The Candle Lighter Award to someone, or you think YOUR blog deserves it—go ahead and award it. Just copy the candle and award name.”

The only criteria for this award is to pass it along to three other bloggers!

sunshine-award1The Sunshine Award – Madame Weebles at Fear No Weebles was kind enough to pass this award on to me. She is a very interesting person who says this of herself:  “I eat too much junk food and I watch way too much television. I’m a historian. I used to be a professional historian, now I do it just for funsies. I’m also a Reiki Master. And despite my intense love of my Droid Bionic, my iPod, and my various computers, I’m kind of a Luddite; I like real books, analog clocks, old-school telephones that actually have a bell, and fountain pens.”

The rules of this award require that the receiver  pay it forward to 10-12 bloggers, and also post a list of 10 things others might not know about them.

inspiring-blogger-award1I received the Very Inspiring Blogger Award from : Amy  at The World Is a Book. Amy enjoys travel and books and her blog celebrates the beauty of nature,  different wonderful cuisines,  history, people and culture.

first-best-moment-award-winnerThanks to James at Digging History for the Best Moment Award. James describes his metal detecting trips on the historically rich Fylde coast and the banks of the lower river Ribble. I can’t imagine a more interesting activity than ‘prospecting’ for treasures in a country that is as rich in history as the UK is.

The Best Moment Award is described thus:

Awarding the people who live in the moment, The noble who write and capture the best in life, The bold who reminded us what really mattered – savouring the experience of quality time.

Winners re-post description of the award with their acceptance speech. This could be written or video recorded. Winners have the privilege of awarding the next awardee’s! The re-post should include a NEW set of people/blogs worthy of the award; and winners notify them the great news.

  1. Snap! I’m pleased to tell you that I have just nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. You may choose to accept or not. If you do accept the award there are some rules . . .

    ▪ Thank the blogger who nominated you
    ▪ Place the award on your site.
    ▪ Share 7 random things about yourself.
    ▪ Nominate 15 blogs. Let them know they’ve been nominated and how to accept the award.

Thank you always for a great (and inspiring!) blog. MM

  2. That’s a LOT OF AWARDS. Congrats for two things- first for getting nominated for those awards and 2nd, for coming up with the best way to honor those who nominated you, enjoying the recognition, and getting out of the tedious work needed to participate at the same time ;). Two thumbs up, heh heh.

    1. I do appreciate that other bloggers would send me these awards, but I’m just not very good at following all the rules. I do make a point of linking to other bloggers in many of my posts, so I hope that counts for something!

There, I'm finished. Anything you want to say?
