While I may never again win the elusive Freshly Pressed Lottery, I’ve received a few of the awards that bloggers bestow on one another. While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I find the responsibility of responding to the awards takes up more time than I can muster! So, I’m glad you enjoy my blog, but forgive me for being unable to pass along these awards in a timely manner! Instead, here are the links to bloggers who gave awards to me. Please visit them when you get a chance!

The Sunshine Award – Madame Weebles at Fear No Weebles was kind enough to pass this award on to me. She is a very interesting person who says this of herself: “I eat too much junk food and I watch way too much television. I’m a historian. I used to be a professional historian, now I do it just for funsies. I’m also a Reiki Master. And despite my intense love of my Droid Bionic, my iPod, and my various computers, I’m kind of a Luddite; I like real books, analog clocks, old-school telephones that actually have a bell, and fountain pens.”
The rules of this award require that the receiver pay it forward to 10-12 bloggers, and also post a list of 10 things others might not know about them.

Thanks to James at Digging History for the Best Moment Award. James describes his metal detecting trips on the historically rich Fylde coast and the banks of the lower river Ribble. I can’t imagine a more interesting activity than ‘prospecting’ for treasures in a country that is as rich in history as the UK is.
The Best Moment Award is described thus:
Awarding the people who live in the moment, The noble who write and capture the best in life, The bold who reminded us what really mattered – savouring the experience of quality time.
RULES:
Winners re-post description of the award with their acceptance speech. This could be written or video recorded. Winners have the privilege of awarding the next awardee’s! The re-post should include a NEW set of people/blogs worthy of the award; and winners notify them the great news.
Congrats, Margie! Well deserved. I love the new outlook of your blog page.

That’s a LOT OF AWARDS. Congrats for two things- first for getting nominated for those awards and 2nd, for coming up with the best way to honor those who nominated you, enjoying the recognition, and getting out of the tedious work needed to participate at the same time ;). Two thumbs up, heh heh.

I do appreciate that other bloggers would send me these awards, but I’m just not very good at following all the rules. I do make a point of linking to other bloggers in many of my posts, so I hope that counts for something!
